It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

This company is seeking people for team Thief 4. Awwww, I am dreaming about working at this game team from 2003 as a character artist.. However, I think that my art and english skills are too low for it.

Why, why they started this project now ?!?
Who knows, what kind of program this company is using for modelling - max, maya or maybe a XSI? I am trying to learn one of these programs until they start Thief 5 or 6 all of these. programs
I'm so sad.

I agree with the others. Your art is awesome and if you want to have such a job, you SHOULD at least apply? After all, whats the worst that can happen. They say no? Well, so what? If they do, you will be no worse off than you are now and you can continue to work on your skills. But they MIGHT say yes too, and you'll have what you want.

Trying certainly can't hurt - as long as you don't let the rejection (if it should happen) slow you down or stop you from improving. I say go for it! It'd be awesome to have a real thief fan on the team making the next one. (Not that I have a clue if there isn't already, but hey.) If I had any sort of the right skills I'd love to do it too. lol But I wouldn't even know where to start and I am -not- moving to Quebec, thanks. I like Alberta just fine.

There's no hurt to try it. I think you have impressive portfolio. Maybe you should make a new character with similar style as Thief after the DW is done. So you can show them that you can pull it off. I have faith in ya.

Tamara, make your wish come true. Your English is more than passable. I am guessing this is a division of Eidos in Montreal, Quebec, Canada? If so, there are plenty of people here that speak Russian and you would learn French or English here or maybe both likely more easily than those who grew up here speaking English. I agree with those who have already stated that you should just jump in and go for it. You have talent and programming as well as language can be learned. The worst thing that could happen is they say 'no' but at least they will see your interest and know you exist. I think you would have an excellent chance based on your artistic skill alone. Do not fear rejection as it is a learning process and you will never know if you could have if you do not try! I believe in you. You need to believe in your dream. Picture yourself working there and it WILL happen.

Surely you jest?! I say go for it and apply.

Your art is beautiful and your English is good enough (and will improve by itself during daily life - I can tell from my own experience).

So DO IT! Even if only you can say to yourself that you've tried. It's way better than letting go of a chance such as this. Once again, personal experience.
